This new unit fits within a 1m² footprint and can be easily located in the “back of house” of the store or even on a mezzanine level.

It is possible to drain over 100 cabinets from a single “Buffer Vac” plant.

This new concept is being fitted by Evac and its distributors in supermarkets throughout Europe.

Distribution Hub - Banbury

The company formed in 2011 developed an idea where raw ingredients for meals can be delivered to your door with just the right amount of each item. This reduces food waste and promotes healthy eating. The company is prominent in North America, Australia and in some Northern European countries including the UK.

Their rapid growth in the UK, coupled with their partnership with TV chef Jamie Oliver has led to a requirement of a new purpose built storage and delivery hub. Moving out of London, this is now based in Banbury in Oxfordshire which is central to the countries motorway network.

The new 237,000 sq feet warehouse will require certain layout requirements that will not have been configured within the original build.

The introduction of the vacuum system has allowed the staff, of over 100, changing and toilet facilities that lead directly into the gowning areas as the facility operates a strict health & hygiene code.

Further additions to the vacuum drainage system include the large walk in cold rooms & freezers where all of the condensate created by these units is drained via vacuum and also the staff canteen.

The vacuum drainage system allowed the designer complete flexibility in the positioning of sanitary items and refrigerators and as all of the pipework is at high level, the fabric of the building remains untouched.

Kidzania London

Thursday, 02 March 2017 12:02

The concept of KidZania is to bring a small world designed totally around children to fulfilment.

With the idea being originally from Mexico, KidZania has opened its doors to these small worlds in major cities globally.

When they decided to construct their new development in the Westfield Shopping Centre, free space was extremely limited. However, it was decided that an area could be available above an existing supermarket. The supermarket objected to potential waste water services being piped through there building. The installation of a vacuum drainage system allowed the waste pipes to be lifted to high level where they all remain within the confines of the KidZania premises.

The system is fitted with over 40 vacuum toilets and over 100 interface units collecting water from the various attractions that KidZania offers its young customers.

These include a fire station with a simulated burning building and powerful drench hoses, an ambulance station with a mobile ambulance that drives around the internal road system, a sports stadium where budding sports stars of the future can showcase their skills and even a British Airways commercial aircraft where everyone has the opportunity to land the aircraft on the simulator whilst experiencing the same treatment level as first class passengers.
