A Fresh Start to the Day for the Employees at Churchill Place

Tuesday, 07 January 2014 11:28

With the Government’s Cycle to Work Scheme in full swing more and more people now take their bikes to work. With this in mind, Churchill Place in Canary Wharf decided to install shower facilities as part of its welfare facilities for its employees.

Due to the constraints of being situated in an area with a high water table, excavations for conventional gravity drainage was not an option, they therefore turned to Vacuum drainage. Evac’s vacuum systems require none of its pipe work to be laid in the ground but can be situated at high level. Churchill place have 16 shower cubicles and a handful of Evac 910 toilets, with scope for more.

London EDITION Hotel

Tuesday, 29 October 2013 09:28

The former Berners Hotel situated in London’s Fitzrovia neighbourhood recently opened its doors once again  after a 3 year transformation but this time as the new 5* London EDITION hotel.

Originally built in 1835 as residential homes then converted into a hotel at the turn of the 20th century this building is steeped in history. The newly refurbished hotel preserves this history with its architectural features, in particular the spectacular Grade II listed original ceilings of the marble clad reception and restaurant areas.

The preservation of this magnificent ceiling was vital to the refurbishment, architects wanted to ensure that nothing would ever damage the historical structure. To avoid any possible leaks from conventional gravity drainage Evac’s vacuum drainage system was the perfect solution, meaning water and waste could travel up and away from the ceiling.
